北陆的乡村中，和合夫妇两人死于一场车祸，长子宏道接管家业，新婚妻子京子为人勤勉，在宏道的打骂中操持家务，并照顾患有哮喘的宏道小妹清美（佐津川爱美 饰）。在东京为演员梦打拼的长女澄伽（佐藤江梨子 饰）返乡奔丧，同时也为曲折的演艺生涯寻找新的机会。两姐妹几年未见，却并无亲情表示，原来当年为家人所不看好的澄伽执意投身表演，为此不惜向父亲挥刀，宏道在混乱中受伤，为安慰同父异母的妹妹，宏道与澄伽发生了关系，并发誓不再碰触其他女人。这一切被清美看在眼里，又通过漫画发表出来，隐私暴露的澄伽始终认为小妹的漫画影响了自身前途，此次回乡，她要向妹妹讨回损失……
本片获2007年《电影旬报》十佳电影第十名。
